Try Not To Smile When You See Someone Else Smiling!

Smiling is one of those things that almost everyone has the power to do. All it takes is a little bit of effort to lift the corner of your lips and voila – you have a smile. Have you ever noticed that in spite of the fact that it is so extremely easy to do, it’s rare to see someone smiling while you are out and about.  In fact, how often do YOU smile during your day? Maybe this article will give you (and them) something to smile about!

5 Reasons to Smile Starting Now

1. Smiling Makes You Look Better

This is 100% true. No matter whom you are and what you look like – smiling will improve your looks and it makes you look younger. Next time you are talking to someone notice the difference in their appearance when they smile as opposed to when they frown. Smiling brightens up their eyes and makes the face look more attractive. Talk about an instant makeover!

2. Smiling Makes Other People Like You More

Picture two people who you know – one who frowns all the time and one who always offers you a smile; now, who would rather be stuck on an island with? I’m assuming it was the person smiling!

When you smile you appear to be a welcoming, caring, and approachable person. People tend to like those attributes in other people. This can benefit your personal life and your business life in a very positive way! You can receive more friends, contacts, and supporters in life who actually want the best for you because they like you.

3. Smiling Lifts Your Mood

It is commonly said that if you want to feel better, just smile. Smiling can affect your mood by tricking your emotions into feeling good because you normally smile when you are happy! It doesn’t matter where you are or how down you are, try forcing a smile on your face and keeping it there. Soon your emotions will start to follow suit and you will start to be happy.

4. Smiling Can Affect The People Around (And Not Around) You

It’s hard not to smile when you see someone else smiling. You know that smiling lifts your mood. You know that you can put a smile on other people’s face by smiling at them. Those two things should be a pretty strong indicator of how positively you can affect the world around you. You can brighten someone’s day just through a smile.

A smile can literally be passed around the world in a day. Someone you see smiles and it makes you smile, and then someone see’s you smiling and they smile, and so on and so forth. If you get the right people heading to the airport (and there is always someone heading there) then you can literally affect millions of people in the day just by your one smile. I’d say that’s reason enough to smile.

5. Smiling Can Make People Trust You

What do grumpy people do when they are trying to earn someone’s trust? They smile at them and say “Trust me!” But usually the smile is not a real smile and comes across as very fake, and that smile makes people lose trust in them quickly. Even the grumpy know that a smile is the way to build trust.

When you smile at someone genuinely, you earn their trust. They feel comfortable around you and they start to like you – two very important aspects to developing someone’s trust. So if you are trying to build trust with someone then make sure you use your smile to your advantage.

Smiling can do so much for us. It can lift our moods and the people around us. It can create a life full of more friends and more opportunities. It can even affect people across the world. Knowing all of that, you should be smiling right now!

I agree with this article. Smiling gives you positive energy that affects your whole day or even your whole life. When you smile at the start of your day, it feels like you can do everything you’re planning for your life and makes you successful at the end of the day.

The power of a such a simple thing! Today it even woke me out of my morning fogginess. My dog came to give me a ‘hug’ and as soon as I smiled I felt more alive.
